Nitish Kumar lays foundation of

engineering college at Begusarai

BEGUSARAI: While lauding the role of Sri Krishna Sinha, the first chief minister of the state, CM Nitish Kumar said it was Sri Babu who actually laid the foundation of a new and strong Bihar.

He said, "By taking a series of agricultural and industrial initiatives in the state during his tenure, Sri Babu sought to provide the right blend for the development of the state. However, it was unfortunate that successive governments after his death could not capitalize on it and wasted the opportunity that landed the state in dire economic, agricultural and social state."

Nitish, while laying the foundation stone of the Namak Satyagrahasthal at Garhpura on Sunday from where Sri Babu had launched the civil disobedience movement in the state, said he has continuously been striving to ensure peace and harmony in the state since assuming the office of the chief minister of the state so that Sri Babu's dream could be realized.

The CM also laid the foundation stone of an engineering college in the district named after Ramdhari Singh Dinkar, the legendry Hindi poet and a son of the soil. He said education is a key component for the growth of the state and his government has taken the task of opening a +2 school in each village of the state. The chief minister also laid the foundation stone of a 33/11 kVA power sub-grid station at Garhpura besides other schemes including Gupta-Lakhminia bypass road in Begusarai district. Munger MP Rajiv Ranjan Singh Lalan, BJP MP from Nawada Bhola Singh, Begusarai MP Monazir Hassan were also present on the occasion.
