Indian writer releases first poetry collection

Ahmad Ashfaque, a well-known Qatar-based, prolific Indian writer, has released his first poetry collection Dastras recently.
The 180-page book contains Ashfaque's poetic works that predominantly discuss issues of the common man.
Ashfaque hails from Samastipur district in Bihar, India. He moved to Doha in 1999 and joined Ajmal Perfumes where he is now working as a senior sales executive.
He is a founding member of Saeban-e-Adab, a literary organisation in Samastipur, and member of countless organisations that are engaged in promoting Urdu. He also co-ordinates the literary organisation Bazm-e-Ahle -Qalam at Musri Gharari, Samastipur. He is also a delegate member of the quarterly magazine Kasauti-Jadeed" published from Samastipur. His encounters with literary personalities like Aziz Nabeel, Nadeem Mahir, Zawwar Hussain Zair, Syed Fahimuddin and Amjad Ali Sarwar provided him an excellent environment to explore his talent.
He became general secretary of Bazme Urdu Qatar and Joint secretary of Anjuman Muhibban-e-Urdu Hind Qatar. He is also an active member of world Bihar organisation and reception committee member of Majlis Froghe Urdu Adab.
Ashfaque's maiden book has received rave reviews by literary stalwarts. Professor Muzaffar Hanafi says that Ashfaque has beauty in his poetry.
Professor Shahpar Rasool, Haqqani Al Qasmi, Dr Mahtab Alam Bhopal, Syed Fahimuddin and other poets have all praised Ashfaque's poetry.
