Kamal Warsi a leftist activist, journalist and one of the accused of Jam saqi case. Warsi was born in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. Kamal Warsi's family escaped from pograms and genocide in India and settled in Pakistan. Kamal Warsi got his education in Karachi. He is brother of Rauf Warsi a progressive journalist of Karachi. Later he joined Weekly Sangat magazine published from Quetta in early seventies. It was a progressive magazine.
Kamal Warsi was arrested in 1980 for the first time in 1980 in Jam Saqi case. He was convicted for seven years imprisonment by a special military court, which he completed. His court statement was published with other comrades in book form in 1987.
Presently working with an Urdu daily of Karachi.
