 Maulana Muhammad Manzoor Numani 

Maulana Muhammad Manzoor Numani (1905-1997)was India’s eminent Islamic scholar and writer,Maulana Nu’mani was also founder member of, All India Muslim Majlis Mushawarat, a member of, All India Personal Law Board, Majlis-e-Shoora of Dar al-’Uloom Deoband and the constituent council of the Muslim World League, Makkah. 


Maulana Nu’mani’s ‘political thinking’ was greatly influenced by his alma mater and he became associated with Jami’at ul-’Ulama-i-Hind. 

Maulana Nu’mani was the author of some 100 titles in Urdu (some of which were translated into English and other languages), and founder (1934) of and for 20 years editor of Al Furqan. His popular titles included What does the Qur’an say to you ?, Hajj made easy, How to perform Hajj? and the most important Ma’arif al-Hadith, in seven volumes. 

Maulana Nu’mani was born in Sambhal, UP. He studied under the great Hadith scholar of the time, Maulana Anwar Shah Kashmiri (1874-1933). Maulana who died in Lucknow was himself an institution.
