Yaqoob Aslam died on December 21, 2011 at the age of 66. He was Chief Editor, “Charagh” Urdu . Address: 15 Anna Nagar, Pudur, Vaniyambadi-635751 district Vellore, Tamil Nadu.   Eminent writer and poet Muslim Saleem say : Yaqoob Aslam deserved praise since he had been serving Urdu in a very backward and small town of non-Urdu speaking region of India. He was bringing out an irregular publication titled Charagh, a copy of which was received by me on January 4, 2012 via courier. It is a good effort. It is a matter of sorrow that I received this publication via courier 16 days after the death of Yaqoob Aslam. When I rang up the mobile number, I was informed by his son and daughter about Yaqoob’s death. I salute him for his selfless service to Urdu. I dedicate this directory to Yaqoob Aslam since a number of its entries have been taken from “Charagh” sent by him before his death to me. I had never met him or made correspondence with him.
