CM inaugurates Ratawal-Dhanaha road bridge over Gandak river
BAGAHA: Chief minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday fulfilled the long-awaiting demand of the people of four blocks-Thakarha, Bhitaha, Madhubani and Piparasi-residing on the right bank of the river Gandak, by inaugurating Ratawal-Dhanaha road bridge over Gandak.
The bridge opened a new era of development in both sides of the diara, besides providing the tourists, especially foreigners, a direct connectivity to the Buddha circuit from Kushinagar (UP) to Lauria (Bihar).
The four blocks, bifurcated by the Gandak, were not directly connected to Bagaha sub-division as well as West Champaran district headquarters of Bettiah was creating a lot of hurdles for the people.

Sugarcane growers, who used to supply their produce to middlemen at throwaway prices, in absence of road communication, could now get reasonable price by supplying it to Bagaha, Harinagar and Lauria sugar factories in West Champaran. After inaugurating the 1,848 metre long bridge of 42 piers, the CM addressed a public meeting at Dhanaha near the bridge.
