CM inaugurates three projects at Kalyanbigha

KALYANBIGHA (NALANDA): Chief minister Nitish Kumar paid floral tribute to his father, the late Kaviraj Ram Lakhan Singh on his sixth death anniversary at his native village, Kalyanbigha in Harnaut block of Nalanda district on Friday. He also prayed in a local temple and inaugurated three projects which were waiting to be opened for some time.

Before offering floral tributes to his father, his mother the late Parmeshwari Devi and wife the late Manju Kumari Sinha at the 'vatika' named after his father, the CM visited a temple near his house and prayed there for a few moments.

The CM visited his ancestral house and spent some time with his relatives and caretaker Sita Ram and then inaugurated the 32-room state-of-the-art 10+2 model school with modern facilities including high-tech science laboratory, computer lab with internet connectivity, playground, lounge built at a whopping Rs 3.06 crore. Teachers for the school have been deputed from other schools. District education officer Dev Sheel said vacancies created in those schools will soon be filled.
The CM also inaugurated a new ITI building that is running in his village since 2008. In addition, he also opened a newly-constructed state dispensary at Kalyanbigha which was built at an estimated cost of Rs 1.96 crore. Regular and Ayush doctors have been deputed at the medical facilities from Biharsharif sadar hospital and other adjoining health centers.

The chief minister was also to inaugurate a power sub-station which is being built in his native village on an earlier occasion but its non-completion has further delayed its opening and its operations. The power sub-station, when completed, will cater to the need of several villages including Kalyanbigha and will substantially improve transmission required for the agriculture-based economy of the region.

The 5 km road linking Kalyanbigha with Harnaut railway station, built at a cost of over Rs 20 crore which was also to be opened by the CM earlier could not be opened on Friday due to the CM's preoccupation.

The CM's son, Nishant Kumar, some relatives, Patna DM N Saravanan, Patna SSP Manu Maharaaj, chief whip of the party in the assembly Shrawan Kumar, Nalanda DM Palka Sahni, SP Dr Siddharth Jain, a number of officials and party workers were present at the occasion.
