Udit values singing anthem, prayer song

I am a son of Bihar; it is my birthplace and I have very close ties with it as most of my youth has been spent here. I feel proud being a Bihari and also feel lucky for being able to witness the centenary year celebration of the state," Udit Narayan, noted Bollywood singer told.

Expressing his gratefulness to Bihar government for giving him the opportunity to sing the Bihar anthem and prayer song, Udit said, "I am honoured that the government gave me the chance to lend my voice to the state anthem and prayer song that will be sung by every Bihari across the state, and thus let me pay back some of my gratitude to my birthplace."

He added, "Earning name, fame and money is not very difficult. With hard work and luck one can get that, but getting an opportunity that gives you eternal prestige is a rare thing to happen."

Talking about his struggle and
journey from Baisi village in Supaul district to Bollywood, Udit said, "I belong to a farmer family and was born in a small village. Earlier, I used to sing at small fairs organized near my village. From there, I reached Kathmandu radio station and worked for Rs 100 only. But my hard work brought me to my present position."

The versatile singer said he eagerly looked forward to entertain "my people" with various Bollywood numbers and also some folk songs later in the evening. "I feel proud that I am born in a state that is so rich in culture. It is the result of my some good deeds that I have got the opportunity of entertaining my people at such a proud moment," added Udit.
