Mohammad Ahmadullah Siddiqi is Professor of Journalism and Public Relations at Western Illinois University Macomb, Illinois since 1987. Dr. Siddiqi also serves as Honorary Vice President of the American Islamic College Chicago and is a member of the College's Board of Directors.

Dr. Siddiqi is the founding member and Secretary General of the North American Association of Muslims Professionals and Scholars (NAAMPS). He is the founding President of Students Islamic Movement of India, was Assistant Secretary General of IIFSO and joined Jamaat-e-Islami of India in 1973. He has also served on the Board of Directors and Governing Boards of Institute of Objective Studies, New Delhi, India, Center for Studies on Sciences, Aligarh, India, Students Islamic Trust of Indian and All-India Council for Muslim Educational Upliftment, Bombay, India.

His primary areas of interest are Muslim media, information policy making in Muslim countries, and Islam's and Muslims' portrayal in American media. He has presented papers on related topics in Bangladesh, Canada, Egypt, England, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Japan, Kuwait, Malaysia, Pakistan, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, United States, Thailand, Turkey and Yugoslavia.

Dr. Siddiqi has published a book on Indian Ethnic Newspapers in the U.S. (1984). He has also edited a book titled, Islam: A Contemporary Perspective (1993). His most recent book is on Islam, Muslims, and the Media (1997). He has published more than a dozen articles in many national and international refereed journals. He has served as book review editor of the American Journal of Islamic Social Sciences from 1988 to 1991. He serves on the editorial advisory boards of The Minaret, a monthly Muslims magazine published from Los Angeles, California and The Muslim Observer, a weekly national newspapers of Muslims in North America.

Born in the northern state of Uttar Paradesh in India, he earned his B.S. (1970) and M.S. (1973) both in Physics from Aligarh Muslim University, India, M.A. (1984) in mass communication from University of Illinois at Chicago, and PhD. (1987) in international communication from Temple University, Philadelphia. He was awarded a Gold medal for securing highest marks in Islamic theology during his B. S. at Aligarh, and received Faculty Excellence Award at Western Illinois University in 1992. Dr. Siddiqi is married and has four children.

Dr. Siddiqi is life member of the International Association for Media and Communication Research (IAMCR) and a member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). He is member of several Muslim organizations in the U.S.
