Gul Ayaz   (b. March 20, 1978, Peshawar) is a Pakistani journalist He is known for his Pashtu language exclusive documentary onWana headquarter of South Waziristan and weekly program on Khuber News

Gul Ayaz was born in Peshawar. He earned his master's degree in Journalism and mass comunication from the University of Peshawar in 2000.

Brought up in a political family from Peshawar, Gul Ayaz seemed an unlikely person to pursue a career in journalism. But instead of marching lock-step at the political institution, his innate curiosity, insatiable thirst for travel and desire to untie mysterious important stories would eventually bring him all the way to Islamabad to work with AVT Channels, the prestigious an organization where he has assumed multifaceted roles ranging from news reporting to the bureau chief and manager planning and development.

The main impetus behind his work for the Pashto language TV channel is the eagerness to serve his destitute community that had faced the neglect of mainstream media and powerful bureaucracies. Like the AVT group Gul Ayaz is steadfast in his mission of erasing the label of extremism and fanaticism from the pakhtoons, by making the entire world believe that his 5000 years old nation is peace loving and hospitable.

Prior to his services for the AVT Channels, Gul started his journalistic career in 2000 working for renowned local media organizations like The Frontier Post , the Daily Maidan and the Statesman, Peshawar; where he trained himself in the disciplines of field reporting, copy editing, page making and so on to take the future challenging job of journalism as a professional. At Peshawar he was an important member of his media community and remained finance secretary of Peshawar Press Club; where he offered his wholehearted services for the freedom of speech and welfare of his comrades.

Gul’s noteworthy work at Khyber TV includes production of a mini documentary of Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Sigh birth place Chakwal, aired on Zee TV, Produced & reported exclusive documentary on military operations in South Wazirstan (Wana), Host of marathon live transmission on great Pakhtoon leader and veteran politician Khan Abdul Wali Khan, hosted live marathon programs on Judicial Crisis from March 9, 2007 to July 2007 and besides many other programs, host a weekly programme "Zamung Numainda" Our Correspondent. Gul earned his masters degree in journalism and mass communication from Peshawar University with distinction and set for a job as all the other graduates do; but unlike others he did not peruse a career for monetary purpose rather a noble cause by making his job as a tool for informing, educating his community and thus fostering a moderate image of the pashtun world. As his job demands greater knowledge of the world, gul is a voracious reader of history, novels, and newspapers both local and international; besides internet surfing for the purpose. Gul is enjoying a satisfied life at Islamabad in the company of his pashtun, Punjabi, sindhi and English speaking journalists

Presently Gul Ayaz is working with Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty as broadcaster.
