Abdul Hafeez 'Hafeez Hoshiarpuri' was born in Hoshiarpur, India in 1912. He was an Ustaad shair (poet) of urdu language and was very famous amongst the Urdu poets of his time. Nasir Kazmi, one of the renowned poets of urdu language was his student (in poetry) and started writing ghazals under Hafeez sahib's guidance. Hafeez died in 1973 in Karachi, Pakistan.
