Hameedullah Bhat can easily be credited with giving much needed impetus to Urdu. With a number of achievements up his sleeves, Hamidullah Bhat has managed to add another feather to his cap by organising the Urdu Book Fair, first of its kind in the history of Urdu in the country. It is not the lone achievement for the director of the National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language, commonly known as Qaumi Council Bara-e Farogh-e-Urdu Zuban. He can also be credited with providing hundreds of books on every subject in Urdu through the council. A Kashmiri by birth, Bhat is a live man and a big charmer.
