Harbans Bhalla

 

Harbans Bhalla born in year 1930 and died in year 1993, A Punjabi ,Shahmukhi and Urdu Poet, Writer ,  Philosopher ,Scholar was born in Parsur, now in Sialkot dist of Pakistan. After Partition in 1947 he moved to India . A prolific writer who has more than 14 books published to his credit in various languages . Harbans Bhalla was a scholar in Persian , Shahmukhi and Urdu language and had a quest for achieving the pinnacle of these languages. He started a unique feat of penning down the longest ever book in a poetic form and has authored the longest ever poetry written comprising of 70,000 verses or rhymed couplets titled Peelay Pattar . A total of 1,40,000 lines with more than 15 lakh words . He took fourteen years to complete this work. Thus broke a 10th century record of 60 thousand verse poetry in the name of Phirdousi or Ferdowsi who took 35 years to write Shâhnameh . Peelay Pattar is a poetry touching a vast variety of topics

Harbans Bhalla Educational Trust 

We started out over 15 years ago as a modest effort to help a few children has gradually grown into a region wide literacy program with over 2773 scholarships and 63 lakhs awarded so far. The Harbans Bhalla Educational Trust (HBET) operates with the goal of providing education and care for all children especially girls, starting with those that are in need of it most and are merit based. Through scholarships and grants, we are able to support their education, counceling and medical expenses along with other needs. This includes materials like laptops, books, games, clothes, etc. In collaboration with the Bee Enn Charitable Trust, we also organize free medical camps which include physical check ups and any medication and treatment prescribed is also provided free of costWe started out over 15 years ago as a modest effort to help a few children has gradually grown into a region wide literacy program with over 2773 scholarships and 63 lakhs awarded so far.
