Pervez Bari is a Bhopal-based senior Journalist, who has been in the field of Journalism for more than
three decades. He worked as Sports Editor of National Mail for 15 years wherein he covered 1987 Cricket
World Cup, One-Day Internationals, Indo-Pak Hockey series in 1990, India-Russia Badminton Test in
1987, National Athletics & National Table Tennis Tournament. He stepped out as a freelance journalist in
2001 filing political, sports, general human-interest stories, news analysis and articles. He has been
contributing into a number of national and international newspapers and web news portals. He has been
associated with Arab News of Saudi Arabia, Meantime, The Siasat Daily, Etamaad, Thejas Daily, M. P.
Chronicle (now Central Chronicle), Daily Nadeem, The Hitavada, Bhaskar & Radiance Viewsweekly. A
post graduate in Science with degrees of LL.B and B. Ed, he started his journalistic journey in 1978 as a
Sub Editor-cum-Reporter under the watchful eyes of legendary journalist late Mr. K. P. Narayanan, father of
famous International cricket commentator late Mr. J. P. Narayanan, the then Editor of Madhya Pradesh
Chronicle. As a cub reporter he had covered Mrs. Indira Gandhi’s Press conference in 1978. Pervez Bari
