Tariq Chhatari (Mohammad Tariq) is an Urdu fiction writer and critic. He has a collection of short stories, Baagh Ke Darwaze, to his credit. He has also edited a volume, Jadeed Afsana. He is the recipient of the Uttar Pradesh Urdu academy Award. He worked with the all India Radio for close to a decade before joining Aligarh Muslim University where he is currently a reader in the Department of Urdu.
