Nitish Kumar has been invited to the famous ancient Ugratara Shaktipeeth at Mahishiin Saharsa district during his Seva Yatra, scheduled in the second week of this month, by Ugratara Mata Mandir Nyas Samiti.

Stating this in a release, the vice-president of the Nyas Samiti, Pramil Kumar Mishra, said the CM's visit to the spiritual place Ugratara, which had witnessed the epic spiritual debate (sastrarth) between Mandan Mishra, his wife Bharti and Jagadguru Shankaracharya, would be important for his inspection of the different development schemes launched by the tourism department for Ugratara Shaktipeeth.

He said that Ugratara Shaktipeeth had been spiritual destination for people from different parts of India, Nepal, China and Tibet over the ages. He said the British government had in 1904 declared Ugratara as protected area after the ancient relic and antiques were found there. He added that Archaeological Society of India had, under UNESCO programme, celebrated twice the World Heritage Day in 2007 and 2088 at Ugratara.
