A Dialogue between Honesty and Corruption
( It was written on January,28, 2011 when a collector was burnt alive by oil mafia in Nasik. Now it is dedicated to the alleged murder of a young and honest I.A.S. officer in Karnataka two days ago )
**************************************************************
Honesty:
**********
I want to efface you from the face of my country,
It is the dream, I see day and night;
I want to uproot each of your poisonous trees,
It is the only way to make my future bright.
Corruption:
*************
Please come down from your boastful claims,!
You are an extinct species ; a slogan of the past;
I feel pity on your wisdom, value and worth,
You are just holding on to a falling mast.
Honesty:
***********
I find some truth in your unholy talks,
My colour has faded , but still I shine;
With the blood of those who love me most,
To save my sanctity, who form an unbreakable line.
Corruption:
**************
Your innocence and simplicity invoke my laugh,
Perhaps you are not aware of the power, I wield;
Those who speak for you, are in fact my friends,
You stand alone; from them all ,I get my shield.
You are deceived by this popular hue and cry,
For me, it is nothing but a transitory phase;
It is ‘ I ’ who stand with a triumphant head,
Your occasional bravery always slips into a haze.
On the eve of the country’s Republic Day,
To teach you a lesson, I burnt you alive ;
On 26 , the press were carrying my victorious tale,
It is my country. Here everywhere ' I ' will thrive.
( From my poetry book ' Voice of Heart')
