Visitor of the Night
Oh visitor of the night, your spectre, like your face, strange,
You are of the night, a secret that visited and departed.
Oh visitor of the night, I know not if you be enemy or friend,
Lay aside your veil and we will talk, you and I.
I fear if I see your face, increases the beating,
Of a heart that, before you, saw happiness.
And I fear if I call, you will not respond,
Astonished me, you are all my hopes and dreams.
I want you, and you alone are my desire,
Concealed from me features in which appeared yearning.
Stole my smile, my mind looted,
Oh where is my laughter, where sleep was lost?
By chance we met, and chance is like destiny,
How joyful a chance and how painful a chance.
You seek to confuse me in your description, I think you are near,
Took you away, time, caring not for our reunion.
You became for me a riddle and my riddles always complex,
Astonished me, oh knight, I live not without you.
If I promise to solve it, I fear disappointment,
If I promise to forget it, how can one leave a chance presented?
